This was a scouting mission for upcoming derby. I know were I'll be trying in practice...probably be the first spot I start.

Good luck Doug. Hope they're all big basses.

Doug,
Nice Pic's! Man my images are nowhere near that "large". I went over a laydown with my 1197 csi in 8ft of water and it looks like a twigg. Everything looks so far away and small? Any ideas?
Thanks, EB
your SI beam width is prolly too wide. Bring in the beams. 8ft depth make your SI beams out maybe 50-75ft.
Mie
Thanks Mike for the reply, however my beams are set at 60ft. Any other ideas?
Thanks for all you do, EB
What was your speed when you were scanning? I get the best images going as slow as my outboard will go and using a screen scroll speed setting that is at or one number higher than the GPS speed.
I get even sharper images with my bow unit with transducer on the trolling motor so I can go slower.
You can affect the apparent size of objects by using a screen scroll speed setting that is 2 or 3 higher than the GPS speed. That is good for showing fish.
A 12" fish on a 60' distance setting displayed on a little screen showing a total of 120' is not going to look very obvious unless you "stretch" it out some with the screen scroll speed.

Thanks for the reply Wayne.
My scroll speed is 3 and my idle speed is 3 to 3.7. I'll try maintain my idle speed at 3 mph and boost my scan speed to 5 or 6 ?
I do see what your saying, (slower you go the better the image ) There are so many settings to mess with. I've tried to dial them in as BBC'ers have written, however my DI is not very defined also? I've tried the default reset to no avail. Which transducer settings do you use, wide, narrow?
Thanks man,
EB
