New SI images with a setup change.

I posted a few of my first SI screenshots a while ago. It was pointed out to me that I was getting some hard interference on the left side. More than likely my jackplate. So I called up Scap and Shirley and got an inch and a half spacer to try out. It looks like I am still picking up something on the left side....but it is better in my opinion. What do you guys think? Should I let the way it is or try and come up with a holeshot plate and mount my transducer to it? I appreciate any and all input. Thanks!!!

This is a shot BEFORE I made the change.

Here is another in shallow water. It's an isolated rock pile about 300 yards offshore. It's the first image that I was able to say "look at the fish on the back side of this!!!" And we proceeded to fish it and caught several nice bass off of it!!!

And here is another one I thought was cool....I followed this roadbed and found several bridges including the one above.

Since the transducer "sees" all the way to the water surface, any vertical object will reflect the sonar pulse. The only way to eliminate the inside-the-jackplate echos is to move the transducer lower on the transom and centered below the jackplate OR install a holeshot plate or similar cover on the bottom of the jackplate so there will be no vertical surface to reflect the sonar pulses.

Mounting the SI transducer in the center of a holeshot plate is the best method.

If you are not interested in the water column under the boat, leave it. If you are then make the change.

Personally, I am not interested in the water column with SI as much as the side images.
