Questions for Doug, T-Mike, Wayne, or anyone else who has an opinion

I have a few shots here that I would like some help with. These were taken with my new 798. I am again totally new to interpreting these images. I have marked what I think some stuff is, but would appreciate anyones feedback as I am trying to learn.

The road appears pretty obvious. Is this actually fish in the bottom right? Also, I am assuming that all of the little circles are bream beds.

I am assuming this is a ridge due to the dark shadow that it casts. There is brush under the cursor, correct? And that looks like fish off behind the ridge, right?

The creek channel is obvious (talk about a pain to follow without SI with all those turns). Is this fish in the bend of the creek?

The 2 red lines on the left side mark the break in forward motion with the TM. I stopped to take off a 2 pounder that was in this brush. Are there any visible fish in this brush?

deerhunter, I think you got the interpretation part down pat. That 2nd pic can be interpreted as a ridge or a channel depending on how you look at it. Those could be bream beds but it's hard to tell. Sometimes they scatter out but other times they are side by side. Very well could be beds..

Thanks T Mike. The biggest problem I am having is wanting to look instead of fish. I couldn't afford 2 of these units so I set the bow and console up with SI capability and have a 798SI and a regular 787 that I swap back and forth as needed. Seems to work pretty well so far. I really wish I could go to a 998 or 1197, but won't be able to do that anytime soon. I actually caught my first fish today that I saw on SI before I caught it. As I trolled by some brush with a buddy of mine, I could see the brush off to the side of the boat away from the shore. I turned and casted at a 45 degree angle behind the boat and my buddy thought I was crazy. Fish hit my crankbait just as I touched the top of the brush. My buddy looked at me and said, "you saw that one didn't you". Just smiled and said yep. The SI is so amazing.

    DeerHunter330,

That is a cool report about you and your friend. I enjoyed that very much. I'm with you, I have a little 798CI, but I have grown to love it and would like to have one of the "Big Boys" but that's just not the way it is now. So...I'm very happy and pleased with my 798. Your right, it is hard to stop looking underwater and start fishing, but that will happen with time. Your doing great you will continue to be amazed.
