    Todays Images telling a story...

This is how my morning started.. This image was a no brainer.. There are crappie suspended above the brush. They are a dead giveaway. Crappie are almost always on brush and have a vertical school formation. I call them wet sock fish because the fight like a wet sock LOL. The rest of the fish are smaller hybrids.

Here's the sonar shot. You can tell from the small arches that these fish are small. 3lbs or less was my guess..

    Time to PHISH

    Tried this pallette for giggles.

Now we catch... See how my spoon line starts to wiggle in the image on the way up LOL. Thats a fish fighting for it's life. He didn't like my directions LOL This is the split 83/200 screen. 200khz is on the right and 83khz is on the left. Whats the purpose of this??

Here is part of the purpose. This chart is very useful if you can put your head around it.. But honestly the split screen with 200khz and 83khz helps. If you see a fish in 200khz screen and you can see your spoon YOUR CLOSE to that fish!!

    More directional difficulties LOL.

    A lil hypnosis :).

    Just FISH.

Ahhhh coming upon some brush in the picture.... Love spooning brush..

Working some fish just inside the brush.

called one out of the brush to play..

    Can you see the FISH???

    Is this any better :)

If you ever see A fish or a group of fish suddenly rise off the bottom or go downward on your screen chances are very good they are joining another school of fish. It would be wise to follow them. See how these two fish join 4 more. They rose from over 30ft to be with a school just under 20ft.

IF you want ARCHES crank up the trolling motor.

    SUCCESS

My partner in crime for today.. Notice Humminbird is having trouble LOL

Between Kenny and I we got around 50 fish this morning from 650 to before 10am. We would have never found these fish if we didn't use our SI... They broke very little but only after we found them. Maybe for a minute they were schooling on top. All fish caught on spoons. Alot of guys rely on them to break. But if you have a slight wind they won't bust on the surface but they still feed. You just have to find them and with SI finding them is a pile easier.

awesome pics and stories again! Makes me want to spoon fish...

my only issue is with the finesse fishing at depth that i do, the lightweight drop shot that i use doesnt always stay right under the transducers, so i dont get to see it too often. I might have to go up on weight to make it more like a video game! hehe

Jimmy, I use a 1/8oz spoon at times and see it no problem. Crank up the sensitivity! I can see a 1/2 oz spoon at 200 + feet. I see no reason why you can't see something smaller at a shallower depth. I could see the spoon deeper but I hit the standing timber and was almost out of line

    You need more fishing line

Heck I know my reels wouldn't make that far. Guess I'll have to take the 25# Test off???

Or I could get one of these: ???? Wonder if it will fit my Dobyn's Rod????

Line Capacity (Lb. Test / Yards): 30#/620 yards, 40#/450 yards, 50#/340 yards

my issue isnt the sensitivity for seeing the lure, it is the fact that the lightweight drop shot doesnt stay in the cone (like a spoon does) when you move the boat around, especially when i am only fishing 20-30'

i will have to turn on the split 83/200 screen and play with that a bit...

Sounds like you need to increase the weight size a little...that's how I control the bait to keep it in the strike zone or sonar cone when fishing ultra deep.

I am with Doug. Also nite and day difference between using 200 or 83 vs dual beam. If it's in the cone the dual beam will pick it up. can't help you with keeping a light weight in the cone other than Dougs suggestion which I highly reccomend.

yeah, it doesnt help that i am always moving around (intentionally or not, i am always stuck in wind it seems)

you cant drop shot with big weights!!!! it is supposed to be finesse! ;)

this weekend i will finally be fishing some lakes with water deeper than 20', so i will do some experimenting

what scroll speed do you guys use for the 200/83 2D?
