I have a 1998 Johnson 115 Fast Strike Ficht engine, J115FTLECS. Had it out on the lake and it was running fine. went to load it on the trailer and it started idling up to 3,500 rpms. Found the fuel/oil diaphragm busted so I replaced it. Still has the same issue. I can unplug the throttle sensor on the engine before I start it and the engine will idle fine. I can plug it back in while its running and it still idles fine but will not accelerate. But if that sensor is plugged in when the engine is started, it idles right up to 3,500-4,000 rpms. Am I wrong in thinking I need to replace that sensor? Or could I possibly have a computer problem? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
