motor dies and bogs

Tonight I fished a tourny out of my champ with a 94 rude 3.0 liter. It ran great at first intell i stopped at my first spot. When i stoped and let of the hot foot all the way the motor died. It started right back up but would not idle on its on for very long.

Fished the spot for a hour and went to start it up again and it fired up right away but still would not idle on its on. not to mention it did smoke alot when i first started it up. went to hammer it down and it bogged really bad would not get out of the hole. I put it in neutral and it revved up fine. put it in gear and floored it . it bogged for awhile then took of good. boat ran great on the top end, stopped at the next spot and it did the same thing.

The boat has new good gas in it also.

any ideas were i should start ?

Try priming the fuel bulb and see if that helps, also hit the primer (choke) when planing and see if that makes any difference.

MY 04 H/O dies 3 times at the dock before I tie up everytime all the time. It's like she wants me to know who's boss before we take off.(Just like the wife) Is there a legal way to give her an attitude adjustment? ( the motor not the wife) I remember something about grounds (Not devorce, electrical)????SMG

I'd check for fouled plugs. That's how mine acts when she's fouled one. ZC

Thanks for the help I will replace plugs and do what Rusty suggested
