    DFI Technologies

Can anyone tell me if DFI Technologies is still open. Their mailbox is full and they won't return Emails. I've got a 200 HO letting me down and need the EMM repaired.

    Re: DFI Technologies (BoatProf)

they should still be open but I have heard of alot of other people having trouble getting in touch with them. I think they stay pretty busy, but it seems like they woudl figure out a way to offer better customer service

My advice is to buy a new BRP EMM. I have a 2001 250. The EMM went out due to the ignition capacitor. The motor flat out died and would not restart. No limp home mode. No nothing. Just dead. I sent it to DFI. They fixed it and sent it back. About $700 and three weeks time during tuna season. One month later the regulator went out. Sent it back and DFI repaired it at no cost, to their credit. I've learned since then about the design problems of the OMC EMMs. BRP significantly improved the design of the EMM for cooling and the internal components were vastly improved. Bite the bullet and go new. No matter what DFI does to the EMM it is still the inferior design and will probably go bad again in time. Just my opinion. Any future problems and I will buy a new one.

Forget emailing them and call them on the phone. They were very nice to deal with.

    Re: (deb0650)

Hi everyone, I wanted to piggy back on this thread as it applies to me today. I need another EMM (my 2nd in 3 years). I did read about a different between the original EMM's and the sturdier Bombarier version.

    (1) How do I tell if I have an OMC or a Bombardier EMM? I have 2 P/N numbers listed on my EMM, one says P/N 586735 and the other reads P/N 778617. S/N is 1720801300.

    (2) If I have the OMC am I correct in assuming I will have to go to a dealer to buy the Bombardier board or can I get the better board through DFI as well?

    I have a 2001 135hp Ficht, E135FSXSIF.

    Thank you

DFI is definately still open but seem to be a lot slower now than earlier post seem to imply ,I sent my emm to DFI from uk in 14 june took 9 days to get to DFI (fair enough as sent from uk ) problem was repair was not finished until mid august paid by card and am still waiting for emm nearly mid sept .This to me seems a bit drawn out although i do realise postage over these sort of distances is beyond there control .in this time i had no correspondece from dfi all contact was made by phone and me calling them .ps they dont open mondays .

Could you let us know where you bought the new EMM, how much, and who set up the new EMM for the injectors.

    Re: DFI Technologies (ril0)

I was fortunate to have the oposite experience at around the same time - mine was repaired and back to me in 4 days including shipping both ways (admittedly only from Louisiana to Alabama)!

    Re: DFI Technologies (acatli)

I called DFI first thing this morning at 7am and got nothing but an answering machine. Tried over and over till about 7:30am, no answer. I guess they didn't open that early. I was able to get to them at 9:30am and 11:30am, no waiting. And the fella there, Chet was very willing to answer all my questions and very helpful... I probably had him for 10 mins each time.

    Re: DFI Technologies (Itch-2-Fish)

I previously had a 2000 model Ficht. I alway's had good service from them. Chet can be very helpful. I never remember having any trouble getting stuff back from them but that's been 2 to 3 years since I've used them.

How long did you have to wait? When I called they said the turnaround was 5 business days. I'm currently in week 2. At least they called when they received it, to ask what was wrong. Hope to get it back S O O N !
