    Super Bowl Food

Thought I would share a couple of the things we are making for the Super Bowl this year.

I'm trying a couple new things this year.

    Candied Bacon:

1 lb of thick cut bacon
    1 cup of brown sugar

    Preheat Oven to 325

Line shallow pan with tin foil or cooling racks if you have them. Spray with non-stick spray.
Coat both sides of bacon with brown sugar.
Place bacon on foil/rack and bake for 30 minutes or til your liking.

You can also add cayenne to brown sugar mix.

    ---------------------

    Jalapeno Mozzarella Sticks

This is a work in progress so my instructions will be vague...I'll try to post a report on how they turned out next week.

Mozzarella Cheese Sticks like you get in the cheese section at a grocery store. I am going to buy the individual wrapped ones probably.
Ms Vickies Jalapeno Potato Chips I have no clue how much it will take.
    Egg
    Milk

Cut Mozzarella Sticks to the length of your likeing. I figure I will just cut them in half to make them 2" or so.
Crush Ms Vickies chips in a bowl
Mix egg and milk together in a seperate bowl. Don't beat the egg too much. Just enough to mix them together I would say.
Dip Sticks into egg/milk mixture and then roll in Chips to get a good coating.

I am going to use a skillet to fry them as I don't have a deep fryer. I am going to dip them in the skillet of grease until the chips are brown with eiether a spoon or fork...we'll see which works better.

Indecision may or may not be my problem.

Try mixing a little chili powder with your brown sugar. I do this for a lot of different things and it is a really good flavor. About 2 to 1 brown sugar to chili powder.

    Re: Super Bowl Food (nitrobasser)

Thanks. I'll give that a try. I am not a fan of cayenne so I was trying to think of an alternative.

It doesn't add any heat, but a nice spice with the sweet.
