Two Tips to Extend the Life of Your Fishing Sandals

If you wear waterproof fishing sandals like this, you know that after a season or two they get a little gamey to say the least.

Rather than throw them out and spend another $50 to $70 to replace them I have a couple hints to extend their usable life.

Hint #1: To get the stink out and bring them back to almost new condition, put them in your dishwasher and wash them (regular cycle) using the normal amount of dishwasher soap. Air dry them in the sun all day and they are good to go for another couple of seasons.

Hint #2: Perform Hint #1 when you wife is not going to be home for a couple hours. In fact, I probably should have made this Hint #1.

    Yup,

Just don't get caught. Don't know if I can put all my veggies on the sandals.

I put mine in the clothes washer as the manufacturer recommends and they come out like new.

Excellent idea. I do the hats on the top rack but never considered putting the sandals in there as the same time. I have a couple pairs that are gnarly enough that would fit nicely on the bottom rack.

Dang, if it won't clean the shoes, I don't want to eat off of the dishes that come out of it.
