Changing skirts?

Anyone have any tips for changing skirts on jigs with rattles?

Are you talking about jig like rattlebacks? If so I use a drop of Mr. Goop Anise this help it to slide ove the rattle then onto the jighead.

I once watched an employee of Lunker Lure Products change a skirt on the rattle back jig

The trick seems to be to gather the skirt into a slim bundle and use it to pull a long loop into the elastic band. With this done, slide on side onto the 3-rattle bundle and then carefully work the other side of the elastic onto the opposite side of the rattles. A little spit lubed the rattles...now I am sure a more sanitary method is used in the actual manufacturing process!!!!

I replace all of those tacky rubber bands with a 4 inch e tie...clipped off after pulling it very tight.
Its over then...its on tight...can cut them off with a fingernail scissors if need be.
