I probably should have posted this in the summer months as it would have been more of a welcome for everyone. However, I want to share this for those who want to quickly cool or make cold a can of soda etc.
Take your room temperature or even warm can of soda and place in your ice maker ice bin where the ice sits. Spin the can fast. I typically spin it 100-200 full revolutions in the ice by hand. This will make your soda just as cold as if you had left it overnight in your fridge.
Pretty cool. It only works with cans. I tried it for plastic or glass containers. Somehow the aluminum allows for the transfer of heat better making your beverage get cold faster. This should only take 1-2 minutes tops to turn a room temp can into a cold can. Oh, this works in a ice cooler too if you are out camping or picnicking and have warm sodas.![]()
