    Glasses and a hat

For safety reasons, it is a good idea to wear some type of protective eyewear and a hat while fishing. I saw some nasty pictures the other day, where someone had a treble hook embedded in their eyeball.

You never know when that snagged lure will come blasting back at you.

Really is a good idea...that thing can come back with force

I had a gar one time, and when it got to the boat, the treble came back and snagged me no more than 1/4 inch from my eye...that was a close one

Re: Glasses and a hat (HeavyMetalBassinKing)

4 years ago i almost put my right eye out with a bullet sinker on a t-rigged worm had it snagged and jerked it back and it went right through my perscription glasses and cut my eye..... i had 5stitches in my eye for 3 months..not a fun ordeal
i always wear glasses of some type when fishing now. the eye specialist told me that if had not been wearing glasses i would have lost my eye but they slowed the sinker down so much that it didnt do anymore damage than it did

always, always wear glasses of some type its not fun at all Trust me

Re: Glasses and a hat (Luke)

I almost always wear sunglasses when fishing last year I was trying to break of a tx rig that was hung where I didnt think it would be worth going after. I start pulling and it pops free a hits me in the upper part of my nose. If I wasnt wearing glasses and was a 1/2 inch to either side I woulda been in trouble. Dont forget eye protection when running too.

I saw that email too, It was rather disgusting and scary, even gave me the creeps and I normally don't mind gross stuff like that.

Take it from someone who put his own eye out with a throwing knife .... always wear some type of eye protection .. I always have clear safety glasses for running the lake ,, and sunglass's for fishing ..If it's overcast all day .. I wear the safety glasses ....
