    Cleaning Plexiglass Windshields

Use furniture polish like Pledge in a spray can. Spay it on the plexiglass surface and use a soft cloth to polish the surface. I work for the fire dept I discovered this when I was looking for a way to clean the plastic lenses on the emergency lights. Works very well and will removes minor scratches & blemishes with a little "elbow grease"!! I use it on my windshields everytime I wash the boat. Bugs and the like come right off!!

Has anyone tried "rainX".. Not sure if it can be used on plexiglass..

Hey everyone-- Here is a side note..
When I take the grand kids to the park, I use furniture polish like Pledge in a spray can on the slides. Man you should see ..them fly.. I'm a hit with all the kids..

ALSO YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T CLEAN YOUR WINDSHIELDS WITH ANY KIND OF CLEANER THAT HAS AMMONIA IN IT. THAT WILL MAKE YOUR WINDSHIELDS CRAZE AND CRACK, IT BREAKS DOWN THE CHEMICALS OF THE ACRYLICS. WE SEE LOTS OF NEW WINDSHIELDS THAT PEOPLE WANT REPLACED OR BUFFED OUT THAT HAVE BEEN CLEANED WITH WINDEX. JUST MAKE SURE YOU USE THE KIND WITHOUT AMMONIA. MARK

    Re: Cleaning Plexiglass Windshields (Jiggernaut)

I just used Plexis for the first time last week. It is the best stuff I have ever used. Use two clean towels. Do not use paper towels as they can scratch. Spray it on and wipe it clean with the first towel. Then buff it dry with the second. Plexus has a great shine and hides minor scratches and swirls. It also is very slick. Great stuff.

I worked as a fly fishing guide in Alaska for three summers. The pilots always used Pledge on the windshields of the DeHavilland Beavers. I sell boats now (Champion) and we use Pledge to polish them on the sales floor. We do the whole boat, windshields, hull and engine cover.
