2007 225 HO Gearcase

What are the major differences between the gearcase that would have come on my motor and the current gearcase for a 2010 225 HO. I popped my LU and it was replaced under warranty. The new LU has some cosmetic differences (water intake and no drain on the front of the bullet). Are there any internal differences to go along with these?

It's a completely different gearcase in size, shape, price, looks, intakes, oil capacity and performance. other than that, they are identical.

They are a better design , a better built case,and suppose to be tougher than the earlier L 1 designed case,This is just what I have read on the newer case, but I do have a earlier in the garage with the internals in a 5 gallon bucket and a busted place on the case where the clutch dog wanted out.I guess we will have to see how long they last,lots of owners of the new case are excited about it.
