No more leaning over to fix the T-MOTOR - MG T-Motor bounces back into position!

OK, Here is my tip for the month, I had one of these on my 2001 model 67 lb MG T-Motor, IT WAS AWESOME
Installed the new kit on my MG today, took all of 30 minutes..

If your like me its a major pain when you run into a stump or bottom and you have to re-set your MG T-Motor. Well I have been wanting to install one on my new MG-Tour Digital and just located a place to order them via the web.
Enjoy, I cant wait for mine to come in.

KEEP FISHING, NO MORE RESETTING THAT DANG MG T-MOTOR!!! And you dont have to worry about getting hit with the blades anymore when having to re-set it.

    Here are a few pics:

Here is a link to the web site I found that has them and a description.

Whats the bottom piece, (loop wire with a hook on the end) in the first post do? I noticed it's not mentioned in the DIY article?

The wire loop is to pull back on the springs to install them on the SS rods.

The DY artical is not my post. I paid 37.00 including shipping. I not affiliated with this company, but this is the 2nd time I have used thier products and they are awesome, well worth the money and very easy to install.

    Re: (TR186FLA)

Spring Break/Pro-Kon-Trol (t/m handles) are my long time product sponsors Known John since way back when Toledo Bend still had trees with green leaves on 'em. Used Pro-Kon-Trol since they came out.

Installed first spring break kit on my '05 Triton 21X. I don't do salt but run salt water t/motors because they are tough. The 109 Great White came in with no springs on mount. The fresh water Gator Mount II has factory springs. When I ask M/Guide why they said no stumps in salt water so why you need springs....So I mounted 6 springs to Great White bracket. Real easy to install and works great. It's a product that many people don't know exists or they just look over it. Good tip

    Re: (Eddie21X)

I put a spring brake on my TR 109. Oh, man that is great. I started with 4 srpings, but I htink I'll go ahead and put ont he other two. Its the difference between night and day not to have to mess with it. Its was worse with ym 109 because if I used it to slow the boat or push the boat back at high power it would slide back too no matter how hard I tightened the knobs. The spring brake is way way way better.

I have a 2002 67lb thrust MG t/motor on the original Gator Mount. I admit that I've never looked very closely at the motor, but how does this product work vs. what's in the tmotor now?

THanks for your patience in explaining this to me!

Take a look at this picture:

    http://www.leesvillebassmasters.com/springs.html
The spring set up replaces the big knob friction setup that comes with the mount. When you hit a stump, the shaft moves back like it did before, but when you come off the stump, you don't have to loosen the knobs and move it forward. The springs do that for you. Does that make sense?

Don't the MG Tour editions already have this feature? Mine does.

Yes, MG tour editions have this as standard. Only problem i had was front rod broke. Easy enough to replace. Standard 3/8 " rod cut to proper length works fine

Was walking through Basspro Shops and found the kit for $19.95 with 4 springs. Installed in minutes and it is great! I checked at Lowe's for the "cheap" version. 2 springs were $4.95 and the caps were cheap, but I thopught they might rust. The spring puller thing made installation easy.
