    blowing out on takeoff???

I have 6 inch hydraulic jackplate not sure of prop name but it is a 4 blade with vent holes and 26 pitch. Motor is 3" below pad. This blowout just started recently on takeoff. Climbs to about 2800 rpms bow starts to come down and then bam it blowsout I backoff then it catches and goes. Wat is causing this and wat is the fix. I also have a spare 28pitxh RAKERII. haven't tried that prop was told that's for when I run real light load. I run a heavy tourny load as well.

Have you changed the load in your boat? Like more weight aft than before or less weight forward? Are you sure you are trimming all the way in on takeoff? Did you hit anything with your prop? Have you tried adjusting the motor height? Very easy to do with a hydraulic plate. I have found that with some props all the way down with the jack plate is not the answer. That will sometimes cause more bow lift and lower rpm's and cause blow out when the boat lays over. Try about half way on the jack plate or better yet just try where you run the jack plate at about 4000 rpm. I don't adjust the motor height for take off, just for the rpm's I'm running and then it only takes a couple of bumps up or down to set the boat. Good luck.

Tried installing a weed ring on the gearcase? Also known as a blow out preventer.
