    HELP

Got a 1999 Johnson... Looks like the carb is the issue, will also be removing the VRO system, with a motor this old I trust myself to add oil than to trust the VRO.

Called a local shop and they want over $700 for a new carb and to remove the VRO system. Does anyone here on BBC know of a cheaper place or a used Carb? Need all the help I can get, I just know that is way to much.. Is it just me or do yall think that is to high?

Money is tight right now for me and now way I can swing that that kind of money at the moment.

If anyone can help please IM or email me @ southernoutcast@cableone.net

    Thanks

    Re: HELP (southernoutcast)

SORRY.. I mis-wrote.. Its the VRO/Fuel pump, not a carb. After cleaning up the boat and taking a shower I was looking online for one and realized my mistake. He/mechanic did say fuel pump. I will not need a VRO Fuel pump since I want remove the oil injection.

SORRY for the mistake... I'm tired and I guess a little pissed. But oh well life is still going on.

New VRO lists for $438.50 a fuel only pump is $405.00. There are a bunch of places online to get one. I think georgia outdoor power has them. $700.00 to replace and unhook VRO is a little steep, I'd like to get that $$ for doing that job.

You could try and look at the parts for sale here for someone who is parting out a motor.

    Re: HELP (ChampioNman)

thanks guys.. I have had someone offer a used one for $150 but not know if it works if it will work for long after, I may try and rebuild this one or get a NON VRO pump and just mix my own fuel.
