I have a 2004 Evinrude 225 HO that had the 7 year warranty on it, the warranty runs out in Feb 2011. The unit has been great no problems till three weeks ago when the lower unit spun, the engine now has a new lower unit on it. Can I get an extended warranty on this motor still?

You do have a couple options. Your engine is considered 6 years old and becomes 7 at the turn of the calander.
One company offers only a 1 year in that age group and would cost $1535.00. The second company offeres 1 year at $1965.00, two year at $2028.00 and three year at $2728.00. All are transferable if you should sell the engine. These are sale prices and reflect about a $200.00 savings, we expect them to go back up soon.
