    Rusty and others...

2001 225 Ficht. I am in the middle of rigging this motor and found a loose bolt on the starboard side. It has a red wire already on it that goes to the computer. I was wondering since it was loose should there be another wire in it from the new rigging? I tried to post a pic but was unsuccessful at that. It is located just above and to the left of the oil supply port. Any ideas??

    Thanks,
    Tim

This sounds like the auxiliary battery charging bolt on the power distribution panel (PDP).

Is it in the panel with the fuses and relays?

    Hey Rusty,
It does not appear that way but I am not sure. It is right by the oil supply port and the red wire goes to it then traces to the computer on that back of the motor. I know this is the same as my first post but I am not sure where the power dist panel is.

    THanks,
    Tim

Is the wire behind the black cover with the two slotted screws?

    Rusty,
OK right where you see those few wires going into that panel behind those wires I have a red wire on that loose bolt. I think it botls into the block I could be wrong. If you moved those wires going into that panel you would see the wire and bolt I am confused about.

    Thanks a million,
    Tim

That is the aux battery wire, it is in the lower left corner of the PDP?, it should be by itself, tighten the bolt, it does NOT attach to the block.

Re: Rusty and others... (HYBRID ANGLER)

Out of curosity why would it be loose kind of like there was another wire attached to it before being taking off for me.....Seems wierd..I have a good pic of it but cant seem to post it. Just to ensure we concure on this in the pic you sent if you were to move the group of wires on the lower left hand side of that panel that is where this bolt and wire combo is. On a side note...Rusty I truly do appreciate your time in helping folks like me. I know this is on your spare time and you truley are a great person for helping...if you are ever in South FLorida let me know and I will take you out fishing for our big game fish or hunting at my hunting lodge...plus the way I brake things it would be nice to have a wrench with me

    Sincerely,
    Tim

    Re: Rusty and others... (dusky203)

Dusky, click my user name, my email addy is there and you can send me the pic you have.

I believe we are talking about the same thing, there was most likely a extra wire there before and thats why its loose.

Thank you for the kind words and the most generous offer, We try to help any way we can here and hope we do, the BBC started as a place people could get together and share information without worry of bashing, spelling or any other problems other boards seem to have, we just try to keep that idea going.

You will need to set the BBC as ok for pop ups with your virus software, then go to "My Profile" (yours at the top of the page) on the BBC and set "allow instant messages".

Sorry, but with posts, emails, and IM's, I stay fairly busy.
