Only fires in the morning....?????

Got a 90 Johnson GT 150......here lately it has been hot as fire cracker here in the south sucky to fish in so i havent much, well went to fire motor the other day and cranked but wouldnt fire up and start, so go the next moring thinking i flooded it or something it fires right up, then again that afternoon.....well the next afternoon was going to go fish and couldnt get it to crank for nothing, well same situation yesterday afternoon....cranks and spins fine but will not fire up.....cleaned plugs off, no luck.....sits overnight this morning go out and bam fires right up....what the crap???? any ideas??????

My 175 fast strike does the same thing when it's hot out. I sat at the ramp 15 min yesterday trying to start the damn thing. It's funny, it'll fire no problem in the driveway with the hose hooked up, but once it hits the lake it won't crank for anything at the ramp. Looks like a new power pack is in order.

so as long as it isnt hot outside it works fine?

Well, it just started doing it this summer with these triple digit days. Last summer it was fine and usually when it cools down in the evening now it's fine.

A key clue here is it won't fire at the lake with back pressure, but will at home on the muffs. Do your homework and check for spark while on the lake. I'm betting on powerpack also. Only thing to do is replace with a new one.

well i just noticed mine like the other day, before it got so hot and humid mine fired right up set for two or three weeks while i was moving and just now noticed problems, but the common thing is only when its close to a 100 and humid outside..thanks for the advice , any ideas on price and trouble to install one if i have too??

i havent tried at the lake since late spring/early may...however it was working fine in the water then, since has just been setting up
