Distance from seat post to recessed tray

Decking a Jon boat and need to know how much space to allow between the recessed trolling motor tray and the seat post base. The distance would be from the end of the tray to the pin on the seat base. Thanks!

^^+1! I cut a rectangle of cardboard the size of the tray, and sketched the pedal on it; set it on the carpet and stood in the boat, moving it fore-aft until I found the most comfortable spot.
I lean on my bike seat 90% of the time muskie fishing, so I wanted the pedal within reach when I'm in that position - which appears slightly further back than a lot of pure bass fishing installs I've noticed. Personal preference.

I measured 16 inches from center of the seat pin hole to the start of the recessed tray on my Puma. It is comfortable for me, I also lean on the butt seat a lot.
