    Foam around tank alternative

My old aluminum tank was surrounded by water logged foam. It had deteriorated over the years and I had to replace it. I don't want to have to foam the new one in if I don't have to. Are there any alternatives to securing a fuel tank in place? Thanks!

strapes but you will need to isolate the bottom of the tank from the boat or it will rattle and cause more problems

I thought about putting a solid foam pool float underneath it to keep it off the livewell pipes that are plumbed into the rear deck livewell on the older Storms. Something like this cut to size to fit into the compartment.

glass in some boards for screwing in some brackets and strap it in or all thread and nuts with a bracket on top . You cound glass in a few cross supports to hold it up off the hoses also. Might want to use a rubber pad underneath anyway to cut down on vibrations against the glass.

I bet that foam pool float will compress over time. I would look for something mor rigid or built a frame of some sort to hold it. Maybe some aluminum angle around the sides for it to sit on or I like the idea stated above: glass in some boards on the sides for it to sit on.
