    Repair damaged area/Marine-Tex

I have a small area on the back of my 93 Astro that needed repair. It appears that the previous owner tried to seal the damage with silicone. It was obvious that water was leaking into the boat, you could press on the damaged area and see water. I removed all the silicone and then sanded the area and cleaned with acetone. I then applied some Marine-tex and it appears to have made a real good bond.

I was told that this area of the boat may have foam filling and possibly still have water trapped inside. Should I drill a small hole in the back of the hull to drain water? if there is any.

Remove the silicone first and see what leaks out. Post your findings.
