    Lost Interest

I ran across a pretty good deal on a 93 Javelin 379T about two years ago purchased it. The boat needed restored with the basics like carpet, seats, fishfinders, troller, buffing, etc. and I took this into consideration when I bought it. The transom and compression were good and the hull was solid. I have had many bass boats in the past and have done restorations on several of them including the things this boat needed. It was something that I enjoyed doing in the past. Well my problem is that I have purchased all the things to do the restore on the Javelin, but I just can't make myself work on it anymore. I've done some of the work like removing and covering the lids, repainted the engine, installed new fenders on the trailer, installed new tire/wheels on the trailer, but I've come to a point where it's not fun for me to do it anymore. I have newly upholstered seats, front and rear fishfinders, windshield, keelguard, had the boat buffed by a local fiberglass repair shop, new decals installed, but I can't seem to get myself to work on it anymore. I guess if it was the only boat that I had and didn't have another to fish out of things might be different. I really need to finish it to sell, but why I have lost interest, I have no idea.

    Re: Lost Interest (javelin90)

I too have done a few restos as well, one boat and several cars. I always have a time period to where I get burned out or lose intrest. Best advice I can give, based off of my own expreince is to back away for a while and hopefully one day you will look at it and get the bug again. Biggest thing is to remember why you were doing it in the frist place, because you enjoyed it. It makes no difference as to when I finsh one, just the time I spet on it. Another thing that helps is if you have someone to work with you (son, daughter, wife, friend) it makes it that much more fun.

    Good luck!

    Re: Lost Interest (champ12B)

Thanks guys! I think I will try to include my 7 year old son and see if he shows any interest in the project. I know he likes to fish and maybe would enjoy fishing out of it after its finished. I just hope I can get interested in it again to get back to work on it.

Two or three sheets of plywood can turn it into a really nice shelf.
