Guys, what's the best way to layout and carpet cover trailer bunk boards? And whats the best carpet and weight for them?

Normal boat carpet is fine. No glue needed. Use stainless staples or galvanized steel ones. Leave a gap about 1" minimum on the bottom showing the wood so they will dry out properly. Use your staples on the bottom side only.
what grade (oz) carpet the best for bunks
20 oz is prob the best middle of the road
dumb question probably but- you can leave the boards ON and just work/cut/staple around the hardware,correct?? and thx for mentioning to leave a gap for drying out the wood.-would have thought of that... doing mine soon![]()

Glue the tops! Staple the bottoms.
