need advice on glassing transom brace to transom

This is my first time glassing anything and I need to know the strongest way to glass knee brace to transom. The knee is sitting directly on top of the stringer and I have exposed the wood on the stringer and the transom. In the 90 degree corner formed by the knee and the transom do I glass like a 2" strip with 1" on each then go to a 4" strip and then maybe a 6" wide strip. Do I need to apply my resin and allow some time for it to become tacky before putting on my 1708 biax or just put resin and start applying glass. Any advice will be appreciated. Thx, Jim
