    Misc Gel Coat questions

Ok my baby has been stored in a garage its whole life so it’s in pretty good condition for being almost 10 years old. But I’m starting to see some light oxidation and misc. scratches and dings in the gel coat. Mainly on top of the front deck area. The top cap is not what I would call bad by any means but I’ve been noticing that when I apply Maguires quick detail it won’t shine up like it used to.

So where should I start? Ive searched on here but most posts are regarding pretty bad conditions and I don’t consider this to be like that. “Well a few of the gouges are pretty bad (dock wounds)but Ill talk about them later” Would I be best using the Maguire’s heavy duty gel coat cleaner on the top cap? Is it meant for this type of fix?

I also have a couple areas where it is worse from things like lures banging during rides down lakes, boat hitting dock etc etc. that I want to get rid of while I’m at it, would these be a case for wet sanding the scratches or am I looking at having to repair with gel coat from ranger? Most you can barely feel with a finger nail. Lastly the fenders. As pictures show they have been hit while loading in some bad weather and scuffed up the finish a bit. It honestly doesn’t feel as bad as the pictures show, is this something that can be sanded or buffed out?

Out of curiosity, When you do wet sanding etc to get rid of these issues and apply wax afterwards. Do you have as much protection as when it was new? Now I know the gel coat isn’t as thick so that alone would answer my question but Im wondering about longevity, is this something I’ll have to do more often now that the ball has started?

Now to get the pictures on here LOL
