OK I am getting ready to start my recarpet job on my boat, so the compartment lids are riveted in so how is the best way to remove the rivets. Should I drill them out or take a chisel and hammer and knock the rivet heads off.
OK I am getting ready to start my recarpet job on my boat, so the compartment lids are riveted in so how is the best way to remove the rivets. Should I drill them out or take a chisel and hammer and knock the rivet heads off.
I would definitely drill them out, start small and work your way up till you match the size. A chisel is going to knock the holes out of round.
