Just wondering if anyone has ever had an Oil injector pump on a Ficht go out. The motor started at the ramp but when I went to jump her up on plane she quit and would not restart. (that was a good thing) The repair guy has done all of the differnt checks and is pretty sure that is the problem. I am hoping that is the only problem because this repair is going to cost a bunch by itself.

Did it screw up the powerhead?
Burning the candle at both ends.
Did it alarm or give you any warning lights?
Im with the guys on this one....Did you get a horn, No Oil light?
If the oil injector failed there would be a code 34 or 35 set in the EMM, or both.
This would not cause the motor to not restart.
No, it did not screw up the power head. There is good compression on all cyl. I did not get a warning light or alarm. The repair guy was some what confused about that too. He thought that maybe the brain may have failed also? He is getting a new injector pump and going from there. Hopefully that will fix the problem but still not sure why there was no alarm.

When you turn the key on do you hear the fuel pump run for 10 seconds?
Yes, I do hear what I would consider the sound of a fuel pump running.

Did your dealer check to see if the fuel injectors would click when running the diagnostic test?
Did they check the ignition system to see if the motor had spark.
Also, did they check to see if the oil injector would click, did they remove an oil line to see if oil came out of the line while running the oil injector test?
Not sure if they did all of those things. I would like to think he did. He did tell me that when he disconected the oil injecter the engine did want to start. He also said that the injecter pump was getting very hot. Does that help any? And the best part about all this is,,,,,, I have my biggest tournament of the year this weekend and I am off work to be looking for some fish.

I talked to the repair guy yesterday he had some bad news. After doing all of the checks the brain is not testing correctly. They have a new brain coming for today so maybe they can get me running before the big tournament this weekend.

This is why I asked the question above, If you can not get the static tests to work (injector tests, ignition tests) then the computer is most likely the problem as your dealer found.

Is the computer falure something that you have found to happen very offen?
Also do you think that maybe the oil injecter pump could be OK after all. Maybe because the computer went out the oil injecter did not get the correct infromation and tested incorrectly.
You had an idea that the computer was bad right from the get go did'nt you John.

It would be possible that there is nothing wrong with the oil injector.
I have seen a few problems on the OMC motors with computers.
That's why I asked the questions I did, sounded like a bad puter.
