    Mold on boat cover

Any recommendations on removing mold from a boat cover? Without discoloring the cover?

Re: Mold on boat cover (bbbking)

We got the following tip from our local canvas shop. I tried it out on a cover that was severely weathered and covered with moss and mold/mildew. It turned out looking nearly new. And it was far less expensive than buying a new custom cover.

Fill a large garbage can or similar container with hot water and mix in:
½ C Mild Soap (such as Dawn dishwashing liquid)
    ¼ C Non-Chlorine Bleach
1 C Pine cleaner (such as Pine Sol)
Soak canvas 20-30 minutes, rinse, repeat. Hang to dry. Seal with Aquatight sealer by spraying on with a garden spayer.

Note, since ours was so weathered, I sprayed it with a power washer to rinse it. Just be careful not to use too fine of a stream or too high of pressure or you will damage the canvas.

    Good luck!
