Hull Color Fade

Hey guys, I just purchased a 1987 Ranger 350V. The boat was wet sanded and I've added a few coats of wax by now (and plenty of bass boat saver). I removed the old registration numbers and I noticed the hull is lighter under where the stickers were. I assume this is just sun fading or possibly from the wet sanding. I tried Meguairs color restore and it really made no difference at all. Is there anything to get the hull the same color as the 'under sticker' color or is that just faded beyond repair? You can barely see it, but I'd still like to fix it if I can. Any ideas?

Nothing you can really do with it .
After 25 years of sun, gelcoat will fade a few shades from the original color.
The UV rays from the sun are continuously drying out and fading the factory gel, that's why it needs to be protected with a coat of good wax or sealer.

Very few ever notice it on their boats until they remove registration numbers like you did, or remove seats or carpet to expose the factory gel that has not seen any sun and is not faded.
