Save the money on scotchguard.
Almost all bass boat carpet is made from Olefin fibers.
Scotchguard is a protectant that just lays on the fibers, it does not penetrate the Olefin fibers in bass boat carpeting.
While it will provide some initial benefit by causing stains to "bead", it will wear off quickly and provide no long lasting benefit to the boat carpet.
Most stains in boat carpet can be cleaned up quick because the olefin fibers don't absorb much at all.
That's why Resolve carpet cleaner works well to take almost any stain off the carpet, the olefin doesn't let the stain set in.
