Was running wide open yesterday when the engine hiccuped/surged then came off pad.
I tried to get back on pad, but engine will not go above ~1200 rpm.
Engine idles fine, but everytime I attempt to accelerate it gets to 1200 rpms then seems to start chugging like it floods itself out.
I would appreciate any suggested diagnosis.
Get a check engine light?
Sounds as if your TPS has gone out on you! You will need to hook it up to the diagnostic software to confirm.

No check engine light.
My 2008 E-tec 150 HO is in the shop for the exact same thing except it won't gop above 2500rpms. I hope to know something on Thursday when I get back in town.

After a quick diagnosis at shop it was a busted throttle cam. Less than an hour to diagnose, install new cam and retreive all pieces of broken throttle cam. $125 and all seems to be well...
That's a new one on me. Glad ya got it figured out on the cheap side. I'll remember that one. My 03 hasn't let me down @ wot yet. A few small glitches but it's been a great motor.
