I have a Blazer 210, it has the carpet edges stitched, doesnt have any kind of trim. It looks really nice, but carpet has seen better days and needs to be replaced.
I looked at using the black trim, even got some trim from the blazer factory when I picked up my new trailer. They do not stitch the edges anymore they use trim now. My boat is a 2003.
With the way the angles and small cutouts and etc are on my boat............the black trim really dosent fit in my opinion, I looked at some newer boats like mine, didnt like what I saw. It looks really good on other brands not not mine.
I am pretty sure most of the boat builders got away from the stictched edges for cost reasons.
I had to make several calls, but I found a carpet/rug place in Houston that can do stitched edges. Nice guy said they do boat carpet for the offshore and pleasure boaters on the coast all the time. He said they have a really good machine and three different colors of grey thread. I was impressed he was so willing to listen to a what I needed. All the other places didnt want to give me the time of day.
I thinks he charges 2.50 a ft. I can't remember the name of the place, I have the name number in my shop. Really nice guy, he even said if I brought my old pieces of carpet marked with an arrow toward the bow he would cut all my pieces for me also. He didnt say what he charged, but I bet they can do a better job of cutting them than I can.
I was pretty excited, I've been trying to figure out how to do this for some time.
Thanks, Billy
