I would like to replace the carpet in my 96 Ranger482vs. I have read a lot on this page that the 24 oz BassCat carpet is the best. However I see on this site and their site that the carpet is 6 ft wide. The back deck of my boat has a piece of carpet that runs the width of the boat right behind the seat. The width is 6ft 2 inches wide. Is the carpet an exact 6ft wide or is it slightly wider? Also, has anyone replaced the carpet in their 482 that would have suggestions on the best thing to do in this case?

Very interested in this also, my procraft at the widest point on the front deck is 6 ft 2 in. I am leaning more towards the 8 ft so Im sure but it cant be basscats if its on 6 ft even.

My Basscat carpet was actually 7' when I got it. You may want to call them and I am sure they will measure it for you.

The carpet that Basscat uses is syntec. You can google them and find the main website however, you cannot purchase it from them but they can give you contact numbers for suppliers. No offense, I used to use Basscat a lot but the last two times I've had to order they don't have the color nor quantity I needed. I can understand that reasoning but just know that you can get more options by finding another supplier of syntec carpet as Basscat id only keeping in stock what they're putting in their boats (which is only 2-3 colors). I'd call to check for availability before I made an order.

It depends on the color you pick with Basscat carpet. I chose Ash and it is only available in six foot widths, and it's exactly six foot wide. Several other colors are available in six or eight foot widths and with some colors the six foot is closer to seven.
