    89' Stratos 201 re-wire

Hey everyone, i have gotten all the cosmetic stuff done to the outside of the boat thanks to everyone on the board. Now i need to tackle the inside. I am wanting to do a re-wire but not sure were to start. My idea was to leave all the gauges, and things that link to the motor alone. Then just cut out everything else and run new wire for my switches and interior lights and so forth. With this i could use a new fuse box and power strips and things to make it look real clean. Just wondering if this is an option or if any one else has done this and has any suggestions. Thanks!

I have rewired several boats. When I do it, I rip out every thing except the motor harness. I set down and draw a diagram of what I need wired and get a few different colors of wire. I basically make my own harness. tape the end of the wires together and run it. Use a good fuse block.

    Re: 89' Stratos 201 re-wire (WFO_89_201)

I just got done re-wiring my family's '83 runabout and what I used was a premade wiring harness I bought online from easyacdc.com.

This wiring harness is a snap to install and they include almost everything you need to rewire.

You can wire in nav lights, bilge pump, live well pumps, aerator pump, even a new horn if you want. It maybe a bit pricy, but it sure saved me a huge headache trying to run separate wire all over the place. It's worth a look.

Genuinedealz.com is a good place to buy your wire if you dont get a harness made. Very good prices with fast and free shipping. When I rewired my boat, I thought it would be a lot more of a job than it really was.
