Need to get water spots off my boat

I bought my Javelin about a year and a half ago. It's the first boat I've ever owned and so far she's treating me great. I'd really like to get her shining again. There are water spots I can't seem to get rid of. I bought cleaner and such, but even hand-washing it didn't do any good at all. I spent hours pouring on the elbow grease with no effect.

So... can anyone recommend a cleaner that will take this kind of spotting off? Also, should I use an electric buffer to clean it?

Thanks in advance for your help. This boat deserves to look better than it currently looks, and I owe it that much!

You know I had the very same problem until someone "in the buisiness" told me the water spots were actually lime deposits and I needed to try the product Lime Away. I bought some today and WOW im amazed. I just sprayed it on and let it soak a bit and with very little elbow grease it was gone. It dried to a haze like a wax would do. Then with a clean micro fiber rag it buffed out to a nice shine...looks brand new again.........Good luck, hope it helps you too.

Hmmm... that had never occurred to me, to be quite honest. For the $10 it'll cost me to try this, I'll have to give it a go.

I read the stickied post in this forum about properly wet-sanding, buffing, and waxing and was hoping to avoid all that work unless it's 100% necessary. This could save me a ton of time and work (time that I don't really have for that type of project right now).

I'll let you know how I make out. Thanks a ton for the suggestion. Hopefully this will do the trick.

a lil bit of sno-bowl on a rag works good for me.

You don't need to wet sand for waterspots. Lime away, CLR or vinegar and water will remove them. I use BTS on my boat and motor. I just wipe the boat down at the end of the day and no waterspots.
