Need some advice on replacing seats

After months of deliberating I have pretty much decided to order some seats from the BoatSeatStore. After pricing Ranger's factory buckets at $318 each and a couple of quotes for recovering which ranged from $500-$600 I think this is the way to go with two buckets for less than $400.

My dilemna is which color combo I should go with so I thought I would get some other opinions. I have attached a pic of my seats now and the two color combos I've narrowed it down to. I was thinking the charcoal and blue but after seeing racefan's boat I am kinda leaning towards the charcoal and grey. My carpet is blue-gray but I am planning to recarpet in the near future and was thinking of going with a lighter color like ash. This could have some bearing on my seat color choice. Let me know what ya'll think.

Go grey with red inserts like you have the red now and on console and on motor.

Here are the puddy and charcoal seats in a boat

Re: Need some advice on replacing seats (Cecil75)

I just installed the same seats that racefan has. My boat is a white ranger with the red stripes down the side, grey carpet. It originally had all red seats. I was going to go with the char/red but I was really worried about the red not matching up with the outside. Red is a hard color to match. I was also a little worried about if the red faded and got orangey or pinkish. So I chickened out. And bought char/grey. I love the way they came out. And I have no regrets about the way the look.

If I was you. I would prolly go with the char/blue seats. Those look pretty sweet. But personally I dont think you can go wrong.

I would say they are very comparable. They are thicker in padding. Which makes them very comfortable. The dissavantage is that you are closer to the console. It gets a little tight. I shouldnt have a problem once I get used to it. I am 5'11' 200lbs. I still give these seats high marks!

What color is the side of the boat????

I agree with what everyone else is saying. Keep the red inserts, or something like the lt grey inserts would look good. Either way I think they will turn out looking great.

Re: Need some advice on replacing seats (Branson)

That's what makes me undecided at this point - the side of my boat is grey gelcoat with metal flake Ranger stripes. If it were all blue metal flake like the top cap it would be a no brainer - I'd go with the charcoal and blue. My main concern is the charcoal being too dark for the grey gelcoat. Don't want it to create too much of a contrast. Here is a side view:

charcoal red or blue either would look nice. They are pretty comfy seats. I jave not sat in a set of ranger seats like you have but a friend had them and liked mine better last year and those seats were harder than the new style of sets

If I were you I would go with the lightest color that matches. The dark colors get REALLY hot in the sun.

Re: Need some advice on replacing seats (hog power)

I just received my seats from the boatstore. But didn't get directions on how to install them. The hardware I got were hinges and screws. I have two large flip up compartments with lids that the seats will sit on. Any help would be appreciated.
