1997 V6 225 HP Johnson - often have to keep hitting the key (choke) repeatedly at hole shot otherwise it will stop on me. Problem?
Sounds like fuel delivery problem, I would check for air leaks in fuel line from tank to engine and those pesky anti syphon valves on top of the tank.
