When installing the seats, do you screw the hinge to the seat first then screw it to the mounting platform or screw the hinge to the platform first then attach the seats?

I screwed the hinge to the seat first but got to thinking maybe I should have done it the other way afterwards. I guess I just made it worse for you. Sorry
LOL thats how I have mine right now, the hinge is on the seat.

I installed the hinge on the seat first. Set it where it needed to be then I sat on it for a few minutes to imprint the hinge in the carpet.
I then removed the hinge from the seat and screwed it to the boat. Then took the seat and reattached it to the hinge, holes were there already so all I needed was a screwdriver.
