But looks better after compound then worse after glazing

I used 3M compound and rubbed on the boat. It looked pretty dar good. I didn't have a whole lot of oxidation so then I put some Finesse-It glaze on it and I could see the oxidation again. So I rubbed compound and put wax on an area and it looks really good.

I'm doing all this by hand, and curious why it looks worse after I glaze it?

maybe because the glaze needs to get hot from the high speed buffer and putting it on by hand is nor setting up the glaze

Bingo! And if you can see oxidation then it needs to be wet sanded and if its not as bad as you say then should be fairly easy to knock out with a 1000 then work your way up.

I am working on mine now, I am using a buffer after I wet sanded, it looks brand new. Cant believe I didn't do it sooner.

+2 if you see oxidation, just hit it with some 1000/1200 grit wet sand paper. You will be amazed how much better it will look. Mine turned out like new!
