Project - 84 Winner Bass Boat

First off I would like to give a Huge thanks to eveyone of you that have posted comments about how you restored your Boat, without you guys posting your progress I would have been totally lost.

Well I purchased an 84 Winner Bass Boat Hull & Trailer back in February.

I have never owned a boat before other than a few Jon boats. So I figured what better way to get familiar with everything about a boat than to pretty much built one from the Hull up.

Well I have been slowly been messing with it, over the last few months, cleaning it up, Buffing, scraping old carpet out of it, removing the old Rotten deck extention

    After Buffing:

Removing hatches, Building a few new hatches, and recarpeting the Hatches (This is a Ton of Fun  !!!). Today I laid the front deck carpet... What a HUGE Difference Carpet makes....

    Before:

    After:

I will keep you guys updated on my Progress.

    Thanks Again Guys!

That is just a plate someone gave me, I am probably just going to build me a front plate from scratch out of aluminum or stainless.

Yes that is the one NRG,

I am not finished yet but am getting close, I have gotten all the carpet on the hatches and in the Rear of the boat now, but my Camera broke, so I don't have any picks to post. , I still have to put carpet in the center floor, then redo all the wiring, lights, Finders, TM, etc...

I picked up a 78 johnson 150 that I got mounted a few weeks ago, acually took it for a test spin last weekend to see how the motor runs, and it ran like a champ. I just need to fix the Tilt as it leaks down. other than that is runs great.

Then I have to rewire my trailer & paint it, Just installed all new bearings & Seals, then the trailer will be done as well.

Got My New Camera Today so here is the updated photos of what I have completed over the last few weeks

Rod Locker completed. I had to completely rebuild this as the old one had wood on top the Inner shell, and it had completely Rotted out, I build this one out of 1x1 square aluminum with 1/2 marine ply on top, then I covered the inside with Rubberized undercoating, and then revovered the top with new carpet.

Got my motor mounted 78 Johnson 150, it needs painting but I think that will probably end up being a winter project.

    Motorguide TM Mounted

Rear Deck Completely recarpeted and I had to build the seat risers/hatches done just like the rod locker.

    Very nice work!!

I like it.. My plan for my first boat is to get a 80's Winner.. I love these boats.. I know they have no wood in the stringer system..

I am just trying to figure out if there was ever a time where they did away with wood in the transom..
