    Help, Void in transom

I recently found a hole below the passenger side foam box. It could had been leaking for a long time. I had it repaired and last night as I was installing a Hummingbird CI transducer below the jackplate, my drill penetrated a water pocket. The spot is just above the bottom of the transom. This location is consist ant with the leak that was repaired. I drilled several holes adjacent to the leaker but no water. I have been injecting Ospho into the holes,a trick that crab fisherman with wooden boats have done for many years. they claim that it will stop wood rot.

My question is should i inject something into the void that must be[IMG][/IMG] there and if so what could I use? I am not worried about the transom because the jack plate bolts did not cause any indention in the transom

Re: Help, Void in transom (Jimthefisherman)

Sounds like your not worried about the structural integrity of your transom and just want to fill the void. Maybe you could use some type of epoxy with a mixing nozzle to inject it (Maybe the type for holding anchor bolts???) Drill a hole at the top and bottom of the void and inject from the bottom until it gets to the top.
