    Trailer Fender Help

Still seem to have a problem with my trailer fender on the driver side. It seems to have residue from my buddies diesel exhaust all over it. I have tried rubbing compound, buffing and waxing, but it doesn't last. What can I do to remove this residue and keep it off??

I would try 1000 wet sand. Then compound and buff. Try a little area first to see if it helps.

Protech makes a sealer. Sounds like the clear coat has broke down from sun exposure, so it has small little pits all over the clear letting the diesel exhaust to get in the pits that why you can't get them clean. Once you get the clear smooth again the diesel exhaust will not have anything to sink into. Spay some Protech on it and the next time out it should wipe right off.

Look at the top pinned post and it has a link to Protech and also will walk you though the wet sanding process.

    Hope this helps

I also have a diesel, but my Ranger is new so it just wipes off. But I understand what kind of a mess it causes. I just started towing with a gas (09 Dodge Hemi) and pulls just fine and I don't have to worry about diesel sut in my carpet.
