I have a 16'Cimmerron tri hull and have been kicking the idea of putting 2 jet ski motors in it. Is this at all feasible? What kind of speed could I expect to get? Or is this just a dumb idea?![]()

that's alot of money to put into a fiberglass jet boat, i grew up in the ozarks and the reason guys get the jets is to run rocky rivers with an aluminum boat. i'd be too scared of the money factor to get real far into and then find out it doesn't have a snowballs chance at working. if you can pull it off that'd be a sweet looking boat cruising down the lake.
no reason you cant tinker around with the idea of a twin drive jet boat. The one thing you might want to look into is the availability of impellars for your jet ski motors. I dont know how well they will push your boat since its much heavier with lots more drag on the hull. I dont know what pitches they will be and how much you could change the pitch.
I know out west in oregon and such they are serious about inboard jet drive boats running the rivers up there. Unlike the ozarks where we run outboard jet drives on the rivers here.
try and find some of those web sites and talk to people up there i think its more common there then the bass boat world.

It would depend on the size of the motor. I would get a tin boat to do it in though. Like others have said, whats the point of having an awesome jet if you can't take it up the rivers. Plus, I know guys who have put 1 jet ski motor in a jon boat, and it worked pretty well.
go look at the sea doo/ bombairdi twin engine jet boats. that should answer lots of questions
