    just looking for ideas

i just took the 2 side seats out of my nitro center console bc they kept getting the way and i only ever have 2 ppl in the boat anyway. the problem now is i have 2 empty spaces on the sides and they look weird since that's where the holes were drilled for the mounting hardware. just trying to find out if anyone had any ideas of some to do to it. i'll try to post some pics and give you guys a visual idea.

Piece of plywood over it covered with carpet to match the original floor carpet

that was my first idea, i can do the seat areas no problem but the back where they mounted the seats has a couple of nice holes too. thinking about using rubber nonskid and just gluing it in like i would carpet. i dunno, feel stupid since i took em out and THEN tried to come up with a plan.

At some point you may want to put the seats back in so I would get some Stainless tread plate cut to size and use the original holes to put screws in. Should look good and would make slip proof steps.

If the holes arn`t to big you can get some plastic hole plugs at any automotive store for a couple of bucks. They are almost flush to the surface and can be removed if needed at a later date. They come in several sizes. I have used them on my boat to fill seat bolt holes. depending on the color of your boat they don`t hardly show, my boat is dark blue so I used the black ones, they come in black or white.

You could take the other seats off and fix the holes for the two outside seats with some kind of material, then carpet the whole area. Then put both the middle seats back in over the carpet. People would never tell.
