    rangertrail side bunks

I'm needing to replace these side bunks this is a picture of the one side and I'm sure the other side is just as bad. Any Ideas? They aren't a standard 2X6. Hopefully someone knows what I mean. Getting close to finishing my recarpet job and need to fix these things too......Thanks......G P

Just leave them off, they really are useless. Looks better as well. We faced the same option. In all reality they really do no good considering they sit so low to the hull. If they came up ecen half way to the bottom of the hull it'd be a different story.

    Gerry,
those are pics of my boat that aaron and i did. i came to the same dilemma. my wood really wasn't that bad, but the rusted bolts were terrible. i started to replace, buying the wood, etc. i came to the same delimma with the 2x6. i ended up buying a 2 x 6 and cutting it a little bit shorter and not angling the edge. however, once i started the project. aaron made a good point and said why not do a-way with it. i did and i can't tell a difference. supposedly those bunks were to help in shallower ramps years ago, when you had to back your trailers up further to load. these days ramps are a little steeper and better built. i ran mine all fall and winter without my bunks and never had a problem loading. never really thought about it either. to be honest, it made wiping down the boat a lot easier, i can no clean the inside of my fenders.
if you look close you can see my side bunk behind the fender. this was before the restore. aaron's post has the pics after the restore..

Yes, they're mid 90's windshields. Call C&O today.

your screw patterns won't match up, but the new windshields look good and cover most of the old holes up. the ones that weren't covered up, we took black silicone and filled in the holes..you can hardly tell..
