    Core Materials?

There are some rotted areas of my boat's balsa core and was curious what the options are with going back in with composite materials instead of balsa. I'm not looking for links to websites at this point but rather the voice of experience of somebody who has used a different material than balsa in the core. I don't mind adding a little bit of weight compared to the balsa if the end result is just as strong/stronger and rot-free.

i build the cobra bass boats and the term coosa is the composite materal that replaces wood.. you also can use nida board.. wood coring does work and easy to use but it sucks resin like a sponge and in long run will cost you more . if your going to ge your hands sticky/itchy/messy do it right..p/s coosa cuts easy with table saw and realy realy strong.
