What do you use to clean your carpets?

My 1 year old replacement carpet in my Ranger can use a good cleaning. I have a carpet spot remover that works well on small areas, but how do others here clean their entire carpet?

I take mine to the car wash and spray the high psi soap on it then rinse with alot of water from the high psi rinse...I do not get the nozzle close as it will tear the fibers in the carpet....I can do it all from outside of the boat. It works GREAT!! if you have a stain try some simple green as swat said then clean it out with the rinse...just don't get to close to the carpet...then I back over to the vaccum and finish up by getting all the water/dirt/stains sucked out of the boat...this has always worked great for me and the carpet always looks great.

Simple Green is good stuff. I'll have to try it on spot areas.

I never thought of using a car wash to do the entire carpet, great idea. Thanks!

Don't use the soap from the car wash... you'll never get it all out.

I've never had any trouble doing it...make sure the front of the boat is at an up angle and start from the front and make your way towards the back...all goes in drains and out of the bilige...then you use the vaccuum to get all the water out...theres NO telling what all those vaccums suck up on a regular basis...a little water from carpets won't hurt them....lol...no probs. Then when I'm done I'll spray and wipe the boat down with a mix of water/wax/alchol in a spray bottle...works great.

Water will fry those vac's at a carwash... they are very expensive. Just take it home and use a shop vac.

guess I should have been more specific...our vacuums at our car wash do shampooing also. so they can do water...sorry about that. They are like glorified shopvacs that will spray fragrance and shampoo.

Have used soap and a brush before...and it didnt do much. Bought an 1800 psi electric pressure washer last week. Hit the carpet with it yesterday and it looks brand new.
