    So I'm thinkin...

I want to do a boat. I had a pro craft I sold a few years ago and I'm ready to get back into bass fishing and well, I dont beleive in monthly payments. I am looking to restore a boat but I have some questions and looking to see if my ideas are realistic. Ideally I want a 17' major manufacturer (nitro, pro craft, skeeter, etc) with a 90 evinrude, 90 merc, or 115 merc. Looking to upgrade electronics, and dash and refinish the boat. Ideally I want a primarily white boat. I want to know how hard is it to repaint or change color? How do I identify structural weakness? What problems can I expect to encounter? I am pretty particular about what I want and will wait for the right deal. So please any advice is welcomed, thanks guys.

I got an 87 hydra-sports that I redid. 18' long. I'll sell you just the hull... you will need a motor trailer, ect. But I will sell you the hull cheap enough you can buy the rest and still come out cheap. This boat is solid as heck. The top cap needs wetsanding and buffed.

I am doing the same thing you are talking about right now and I had a procraft as my last bass boat as well. I bought a 1984 Ranger 350V with a 1987 merc 150 last year. I spent last winter with the boat on blocks and redid the trailer sanded down, painted, rewired, new bunks, carpet, and led lights. I rewired the boat and replaced the gauges as well. This winter has been filling all the holes in the boat the 15 previous owners had to put in the boat for covers, fish finders, cleats, handels, fire extinguishers, etc. etc.. I have sanded the clearcoat off that someone sprayed on it in the past to fix the faded gel, removed all the old carpet, and replumbed the livewell. The top cap inside is getting painted with off white imiron tomorrow and then the new carpet goes in and I will have a pretty good boat that looks pretty darn good for about $3000.00. The last boat I had I sold for 60,000.00 it was not a bass boat but a center console offshore fishing boat when I lived in FL. I have put tons of time in but I have been recovering from an illness and have not been able to work full time or have that much energy for the boat.
